Frequently Asked Questions
What is Forged Method?
A text-based decision support service for early-career professionals. You describe a real situation — a hard call with your manager, a mistake you haven't disclosed yet, a decision you're not sure how to make — and you get back one directive move, grounded in decades of operational experience and biblical wisdom.
What kind of situations is this for?
Workplace moments where the right move isn't obvious — conflict with a manager or coworker, a mistake you haven't owned yet, a decision you have to make with incomplete information, a moment where speaking up or staying quiet both feel risky. If it's a real tension at work and you're not sure what to do, it's fair game.
How is this different from texting a friend, or asking Google or an AI chatbot?
Friends give you their opinion, usually filtered through what they'd do in your shoes — and they're often just as early in their career as you are. Google gives you information, not direction. Generic AI gives you a list of options and leaves the choosing to you. Forged Method gives you one move, from someone who's actually sat in the room.
Is this AI?
We leverage AI architecture — but it's not built like the AI you're used to. Generic AI is a mirror. Ask it what to do and it reflects back a plausible-sounding version of whatever's already been said on the internet — confident, articulate, and often wrong for your specific situation, because it doesn't actually know your situation. It hedges by giving you five options instead of one, because picking one is a judgment call, and generic AI isn't built to make judgment calls. It's built to sound helpful without being wrong, which usually means being useless when it matters most.
Can I follow up, or is it one text and done?
You can keep going as the situation develops — if new information comes in or the picture changes, text again. What Forged Method won't do is turn into a back-and-forth negotiation over the first answer; the value is in getting a real move, not talking yourself into a different one.
Do I need to be religious to use this?
No. The wisdom behind Forged Method comes from Scripture, but the guidance itself is practical and situational — you don't need a faith background to use it or benefit from it. If Scripture isn't something you connect with, the anchor behind each response is there if you want it, not something you have to engage with to get the move itself.
What Forged Method is not
It's not legal advice, HR guidance, therapy, or financial advice, and it's not a substitute for a licensed professional. It's not built for emergencies or anything time-sensitive or high-stakes — if that's your situation, go directly to the right professional or resource. Forged Method is for the everyday judgment calls that don't have anywhere else to go.
Is there an age requirement?
Yes — Forged Method is intended for users 18 and older.
Is what I send private?
Yes. Your messages aren't used to build a public profile of you, and they're not sold or shared for marketing. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.
Will this remember what I've told you before?
Not in a way that's held against you. Forged Method won't quote a past admission back at you or use it to second-guess a future situation. Whether it learns your patterns over time to sharpen direction is something we're still building toward — but you'll always know what that means before it changes.
What if I mention my manager or coworker by name?
You can, but you don't have to — using a role ("my manager," "a coworker on my team") works just as well as a name, and we'd recommend it where you can. We don't contact anyone you mention, and we don't verify what you tell us. What you send is yours to describe as you see fit; just know you're the one choosing what to include.
Who's actually behind this?
Forged Method is built by Matt Brown, who spent 25 years in operational leadership roles before teaching at the university level. The guidance draws on that experience, paired with Scripture as a decision-making resource.
When can I get access?
